Do Ya Feel That Breeze?

Hello my lovelies!!!  I recently got some Aromaleigh samples of 3 collections and couldn't wait to slap some on mah eyeballs.  Did you hear did you hear?  Kristen has pushed back her reopening date to September 18th.  She had originally planned for September 9th, but is enjoying her much needed rest so decided to give herself & her devoted staff a couple more weeks.  She has also been twittering inventory counts for every single eye shadow she has in stock!!!  I've been checking it daily & making a list of the items/colors I want to buy.  She has marked all of the eye shadows down to $4!!!!  All of her sparkly goodness at an insane discount ~ I can barely contain my excitement!!  So in honor of that, I have an Aromaleigh LOTD for you today.

Face:
  • Normal moisturizing routine
  • CoverFX Brite Prep Brightening Foundation Primer (with SPF 50)
  • Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Sleek Chausie
  • Aromaleigh Ultra-Resolution Finishing Powder in Translucent
  • Bare Escentuals Tropical Radiance for blush
Eyes:
  • Brows - Smashbox Brow Tech Wax & color in Brunette/Taupe
  • Bare Escentuals Prime Time for Eyes lid to browbone
  • Aromaleigh "Sylph" lid to browbone (from the En Pointe collection)
  • Aromaleigh "Seed Pearl" inner third of lid (from the L'Orchidee collection)
  • Aromaleigh "Soul Takes Flight" crease & outer vee (from the Les Papillons collection)
  • Aromaleigh "Zephyr's Breeze" patted on middle third of lid (also from Les Papillons)

I also recently purchased a Sonia Kashuk ergonomic eye liner brush.  The tip (the ferrule) is bent at a 45 degree angle which is supposed to make lining so easy.  Let me tell you, it is!!!  I line like a pro now!!

I lined the top lid with Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Eyeliner in Black with green sparkles to complement Zephyr's Breeze in this look.  I also lined my upper & lower waterlines with Tarte Emphas'eyes Liner in Black.  As usual, the liner on the waterlines came off within the first hour, but the Physician's Formula eyeliner stayed on all day!
On my lashes I used Dior Exstase as a base coat & Stila Convertible Mascara on top & bottom lashes.

What do you think of today's look?  Are you planning on getting anything from Aromaleigh's final sale??
Let me know in the comments!!!!

XOXO,
me

Important News About Aromaleigh's Reopening!!!

Kristen from AL has posted some important information about the re-opening of Aromaleigh for their final inventory clearance.  I've already started my list of colors that I want to get ~ have you started yours??  Here's the link to today's post in her blog:

Important news!!  Re-opening date has been changed!!

Please please read if you plan on purchasing during this re-opening!!!

Hugs!!!

Pssssst....Read This!!!!

Good morning lovelies!!  I know it's been a while since I have posted a look & I am so sorry for that.  I would also like to thank my new followers for subscribing to my blog ~ we now have 29 followers & are that much closer to our 100 follower giveaway!!!!  I really can't wait to reward someone (or a couple of someones) for reading this insanity!!
Now on to the LOTD:

Face:
  • My normal moisturizing routine
  • Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Sleek Chausie
  • Makeup Forever (MUFE) HD High Definition Powder
  • BE blush in Vintage Peach
  • On brows, I used Smashbox's Brow Tech Wax pencil & a mix of Brunette/Taupe

On my eyes I used:
  • UDPP
  • Killer Cosmetics Old Lace lash to browbone
  • Killer Cosmetics Soylent Green inner corner
  • Hi-Fi Cosmetics Fear the Nobodies middle lid, lashline extending up past crease
  • Killer Cosmetics Frog's Breath crease & outer vee
  • Killer Cosmetics 40 Whacks spot applied outer third of lid blended into Fear the Nobodies
On my lashes, I used Cargo's Lash Activator, which really truly does make my lashes grow.  My lashes, especially the ones on my left eye, are very prone to falling out.  I don't understand why.  I carefully remove my eye makeup at night & am careful when curling my lashes.  But the Lash Activator in conjunction with my BE/RM Triple Action eye cream helps my lashes grow back in & grow thicker.
On top of the Lash Activator, I used Stila's Convertible Mascara on both upper & lower lashes.

On my lips, I used Buxom Big & Healthy lipstick (I know, lipstick on me?!?!) in Brooklyn with Kat Von D Lightening Lip Gloss in Saint over it.  I think Brooklyn matches my natural lip color exactly & it's really the only lipstick I use & own!!  And you all know, gentle readers, how much I adore Miss D's lip glosses.

So what do you think??  I really like the pop of color that 40 Whacks gives to this otherwise green look.  Do you like what you've seen so far of Killer Cosmetics' products?  Let me know in the comments!!

XOXO, me

Killer Kitty

Well, I got some fabulousness in my mail today!!!  I recently placed an order with UV Kitty/Killer Cosmetics for some eyeshadow samples (9 to be exact) and received them today *yay*  Here is a list of the colors I got.  The color descriptions are taken from Killer Cosmetics' website:

  • Black The RipperA rich, deep opaque black with a hint of green lustre.
  • Forty WhacksA bright, shimmering opaque pink with peach undertones and a faint blue/purple glimmer.
  • Soylent GreenA bright, shimmering opaque lime green with a hint of yellow sugar.
  • Crystal Lake ~ A deep, bottomless blue-green, with a high shimmer and green sparkle. This is a rich shade that applies opaque.
  • Deadly Nightshade ~ A smokey purple with hint of blue and red shimmer.
  • Frog's Breath ~ A Smokey, Neutralized green, Deep like a Forest, but with a Rich Turquoise and Yellow Shimmer.
  • Leatherface ~ A super shimmery and opaque mocha-gold with a yellow base, neutralized slightly as not to clash with the natural pinks and yellow bases of skin tones. This shade is prismatic and deep and has a multicolored shimmer.
  • Old Lace ~ A bright, opaque and shimmery off-white, neutralized with golden and orange shimmer.
  • The Overlook ~ A bright, super opaque powder blue with a slight sheen.
I must tell you, I am SOO impressed with this company.  I also ordered Lady Killer (a bright, opaque true purple with hints of blue & pink shimmer), but the owner sent a note along with my order letting me know that they did not have Lady Killer samples in stock so they sent me a FULL SIZE Frog's Breath.  Can you believe that?!?!  Not just another sample in another color ~ a full size eye shadow!!!  All of these were wrapped in the cutest leopard print tissue paper & there were some extra goodies in the package as well.  Take a look:

I LOVE this color!!!!

And of course, gentle reader, I swatched these lovelies for you.  Did you think I wouldn't?  Feast thine eyes:
**These were taken inside with flash**

**These were taken outside with natural light no flash**

I think my favorites so far are 40 Whacks, Deadly Nightshade, Crystal Lake & Frog's Breath.  These apply so smooth & appear somewhat creamy in texture.  I love these shadows, I love this Company and I love the way it's operated & run.  OH!!  This company is based in Ontario, Canada.  I ordered on August 21st, received a shipping notice on August 23rd & received them today, August 27th.  That is insanely fast even for a company here in the States.  But for one who is based in Canada?!?!?!  Almost unheard of!!
Do I think these eye shadows are high quality? Yes I absolutely do.  The packaging is high quality as well.
Would I recommend this company to others?  Without a doubt.  The personalized service.  Going above & beyond for an out-of-stock sample.  The cute little extras & the finishing touches.
Would I purchase from this company again?  I will actually be placing my second order this weekend with them to get some of the other "bolder" colors.

Which colors are your favorites?  Have you tried Killer Cosmetics??  Let me know in the comments what you think of these delightful shadows!!!!  Go visit the website ~ http://www.uvkittyshop.com/store/

XOXO, me!

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer ~ My Review

Yes, my gentle readers, it has been a while since I have posted anything.  I have not been feeling very creative, inspired or even like putting on any make-up lately.  I'm trying not to allow myself to slip into that blackness that I am so familiar with, but sometimes it's so darn hard.  I've been crying out to God because Truth tells me that He will lift me up out of the pit of despair.  But, I also have to wonder if this is a season of testing for me.  And if it is, I want to learn what He is trying to teach me.  Being put through the fire is painful though as He removes the dross & yuckiness from my heart.  It's so necessary!!  I'm no good to anyone, and especially no good to God, if I continue to be tangled up by my strongholds.  Pray for me, and if you leave a prayer request in my comments, I promise you that I will pray for you too!!

Now, on to the review:

Lorac Behind The Scenes primer is a relatively new product to the primer world.  I was able to snag this from Sephora ~ it was a 100-point perk ~ and I was really really excited to try it out.  This is what Sephora's website says about this little slice of primer heaven:

What it is:
A gentle, lightweight eyeshadow primer that is free of oil, fragrance, and parabens.

What it does:
Behind The Scenes Eye Primer is a crease-resistant formula that holds pigment in place for long-lasting, stay-true color. It easily glides on the eye lid and the silky-smooth finish minimizes flaws and imperfections on the lid.

What else you need to know:
This product was developed for use with LORAC eyeshadow products and packaged in a slant tip tube, which allows for a sanitary, finger-friendly application that allows you to control the amount of product being dispensed.

And the reviews on this, OH the reviews!  Sooooo many 5-star reviews.  That furthered my excitement to use this primer.
The consistency of this primer is lovely.  It's thicker than BE Prime Time for Eyes & UDPP.  And it's so smooth & creamy.  Not gritty at all.  When applied to the eyelid, it's very easy to get a thin consistent unstreaky layer.  It dries to a somewhat tacky finish fairly quickly but not too tacky as to prevent proper adherence of eye shadows, both pressed & loose.  I so wanted to love this primer.  Up to this point, it's been everything it's promised.  Imagine my disappointment when I applied this under BE eyeshadow.  I so wish I would have taken before & after pictures so I could show you my experience with this primer.  At the end of the day, it didn't hold up to the promise of crease-resistant or holding pigments in place.  I had a huge gross collection of oily pigment in my creases & it actually faded my colors!!!  I used the Key West collection that day, and if you've seen this collection, you know how bright the colors are!!  Well, they faded to a slight yellowish-green barely there wash.  Ugh!!  I was almost sold on Behind the Scenes, too.  But I had such disappointing results that I took it from my makeup station & put it back in the box and back into my sample stash.  I am so bummed that it didn't work for me & bummed that for me, it didn't live up to what the reviews said.  Now, I'm not saying it won't work for you ~ maybe it will.  But this primer worked better, in my humble opinion, than the Kat Von D eye primer......and that's saying A LOT!!!

Have you tried this primer??  Did you have better results than me??  Let me know in the comments!!!!

Until tomorrow, remember that if you're going through a testing period or a rough time, take a minute to ask if you're supposed to be learning something from it.  The answer you receive may just surprise you!

Purple ~ The Color Of Royalty

I know, I know.....I promised a LOTD with my newness from Hi-Fi.  Sorry, I just haven't been feeling inspired. And today was just too exciting of a day, what with Lindsay getting released from Jail and all!  It's just been a period of time where the fibro has taken over & scooped me out.  I try to not let fibro control my life & live my life with fibro as a footnote....but I don't always succeed.  And it definitely hit me hard the last few days.

Anyway, enough with the pity-party....on to the crack!!!

Face:

  • Moisturized as usual & used Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (love)
  • Meow's Pampered Puss Foundation in Sleek Chausie
  • Aromaleigh's Ultra-Resolution Finishing Powder in a 50/50 mix of Clear and Peaches Cream
  • Laura Geller Blush & Brighten in Sunswept
  • Smashbox Brow Tech Wax Pencil over brows to groom
  • Smashbox Brow Tech combo of Brunette/Taupe over wax to define
  • BE Prime Time Eye Primer

My chin area looks really blotchy.  I'm not sure why.  I have these weird dark spots/blotches on the like outer corners of my chin right underneath my lower lip corners.  They're really annoying & it is so hard to find a product that will cover them completely.  I'm not sure what they're from either.

Eyes (I think the purple really brings out the green in my eyes):

  • MAC Pigment in Kitschmas from lashline to brow bone
  • MAC Pigment in Grape in crease & outer vee
  • Tarte Lock & Roll Duo in Tanzanite - I actually only used the cream shadow half & I used it as a liner on my upper & lower lash lines.  It was subtle but SO pretty.
  • MAC Pigment in Fuschia in middle of lid right above the iris of my eye.

On my lashes, I used my new favorite mascara, Stila Convertible Mascara.  I love everything about this mascara.  It doesn't clump at all, the formula is pretty thin but I like that because it helps separate my lashes so they don't stick together & make that spider leg look, it's buildable unlike other "tubing" mascaras which is cool and it doesn't budge even on my lower lashes which is a blessing in itself.

What do you think??  Do you love MAC?  Have you ever tried any of Tarte's products?  Tarte.com is actually having a Friends & Family sale going on right now until August 9th.  Use code: FFAUG to receive 40% off everything!!  I highly recommend the Lock & Roll Duos and their Lights, Cameras, Lashes mascara.

Big hugs & sparkle twirls!!!
